2020 was a year like no other - placing our own and loved ones health at the very forefront of our minds. A great deal has been learnt about the risk factors and how our individual health status can sabotage the strength and activity of our immune system. While there is little you can do about a pandemic, when armed with the right information there IS plenty that can be done to strengthen your entire physiology to both prevent infection and, most importantly, change a health trajectory away from ill health & chronic disease, to one that boost's brain function, reset's weight, lessens inflammation and as such setting a landscape to live longer, healthier, and disease-free.

The WholeLife Plan was born!
There is not just one event that causes us to fall for an infection like COVID-19, but instead, a series of events has to line up to create the ‘perfect storm’ that makes us far more vulnerable. Through weekly self-paced information-packed webinars we will delve into The 5 Pillars of Health: Hormones, Nutrition, The Gut Microbiome, Brain Health & Movement for optimal health, functionality & Longevity.
Each webinar runs for approx 75 minutes, firstly explaining how the pillar impacts our health and of course full of tools how to best optimise it's functionality.

The Whole Life Plan 5 week schedule
Week 1 | Immune Fundamentals; Nutrition for Optimal Longevity & Wellness
The immune system is an essential feature for us all, serving many functions. We start this programme covering the fundamentals of the immune system how it works and how we support it.
The second half of this first webinar is all about nutrition. What is the best way to eat? Ketogenic, Paleo, Vegan, gluten free, dairy free, ….. It’s a minefield for sure! This first week is all about unpacking the numerous diet models promising the wholly grail of "immune boosting" properties, weight loss and longevity. We also discuss the use of intermittent fasting, and need for specific vitamins and minerals: Vitamin D, Zinc, turmeric, resveratrol and Essential Fatty Acids as they related to longevity and immunity. We certainly start week one with a lot of information to get your teeth stuck into!

Week 2 | Hormonal Harmony
Diving deep into hormonal health, we discuss the role of hormones and what symptoms arise when they are imbalanced. We cover the importance of taming inflammation to optimise metabolism, connect the dots of how blood sugar levels impact our immunity and when erratic send a ripple of destruction across multiple body systems. Chronic stress is one of the major contributors to an imbalanced immune system and predisposition to disease, so this week is packed with tools and advice in how to mitigate this imbalance.

Week 3 | The Magical Microbiome & Liver Gallbladder Axis
Your microbiome is a massive ecosystem made of up simply trillions of organisms such as bacteria, yeasts, fungi & viruses that live in your digestive tract, mouth, lungs, vagina & sinuses. Collectively these weigh up to 2kg!
The microbiome is involved in metabolic, nutritional and immune system functions, playing a fundamental role in the training and function of the host immune system. This week we explore how we can positively manipulate this ecosystem through diet, lifestyle and what specific probiotic species and strains can be helpful. Plus we tease apart the roles the gallbladder and liver play in this delicate axis, and of course how to support. Another bumper week!
Week 4 | The Whole Life Brain Box
This week is packed full of diet & lifestyle management to heal and protect your brain for life. We discuss the importance of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) which promotes the growth of new brain cells and what diet and lifestyle strategies you can adopt to increase the wonder chemical. We also explore the link between food and depression, the gut brain axis and our third brain, the limbic brain - the cerebral cortex.
Week 5 | Movement for Health, Functionality & Longevity
Exercise not only changes the wiring of the brain but also builds lean muscle to provide us with strength, helps to keep our bones strong and reduce the risk of fracture, and sensitises our cells to insulin (we do not want to become insulin resistant)! Mindful movement works on improving our stress resilience, helps us sleep and stimulates BDNF! This week brings it all together beautifully.
